Bayern Munich director Max Eberl commented on the failed negotiations with Thomas Tuchel to keep him at the helm of the Munich team for the next season.

“We had extensive discussions with Thomas Tuchel. The discussions were open and very transparent. However, a decision has been made, and the matter is closed. It wasn't just one moment; we talked about the whole issue, and it's very complex,” the official told SkyDE.

It is worth recalling that Bayern had wanted to reconsider parting ways with Tuchel at the end of the season. On Thursday, the club made another attempt to convince the German specialist with several proposals, but he was not persuaded, and Tuchel will leave Bayern in the summer.

Reports indicated that Eberl did not find support among the club's top management, despite their significant efforts. As a result, Tuchel rejected Bayern’s offer.

Previously, Bayern Munich failed to reach agreements with Oliver Glasner, who recently started working with Crystal Palace. Additionally, the club could not secure agreements with Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, or Ralf Rangnick to succeed Tuchel.

It should be noted that, for the first time in 11 years, Bayern Munich did not win any titles this season. Tuchel's team currently occupies second place in the Bundesliga, and they were eliminated by Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals. In the German Cup, the Munich team was sensationally ousted by Saarbrücken from the third division.
