The cost of signing head coaches by clubs continues to escalate with each passing year. In 2021, Bayern Munich set a record by paying an incredible €30 million for the rights to sign Julian Nagelsmann from RB Leipzig, while in the following year, Chelsea paid Brighton £21.5 million.

After Jürgen Klopp announced in January that he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, Anfield began its search for his replacement. The top contender was considered to be Xavi Alonso, who has been demonstrating remarkable results with Bayer Leverkusen. However, the Spaniard himself stated that he has decided to remain with the club for at least another year. Consequently, the list of contenders for the Liverpool managerial position diminished, and the primary target for the Merseysiders is now Ruben Amorim, the current Sporting Lisbon coach.

If Liverpool wishes to sign the Portuguese coach, they may not have to spend excessively. According to The Telegraph, Amorim could leave Sporting for just €15 million, a figure that will decrease to €10 million in the summer.

Undoubtedly, Ruben Amorim will not succumb to speculation on this matter and will remain focused on his team's performance. Sporting currently leads the Portuguese Primeira Liga, albeit only one point ahead of Benfica with a game in hand. The Portuguese tactician, along with his team, will be aiming to secure their second league title in 22 years.
