The 2024 Turkish champion has been decided. Istanbul's Galatasaray has defended its title as the country's top team.
In the final match of the Turkish Super League season, Galatasaray convincingly defeated Konyaspor 3:1. Mauro Icardi scored twice, with Berkan Kutlu adding another goal.
In a parallel match, their main rivals Fenerbahçe also secured a victory, but it was inconsequential. In the final standings of the 2023/24 season, Galatasaray finished three points ahead of the "Canaries" (102 to 99).
Trabzonspor claimed the bronze medals. While the famous Besiktas failed the season - the team finished in sixth position and was left without the International Cups.
This championship marks Galatasaray's 24th title in their history, a national record. Next season, both Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe will compete in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
