That's it! Crystal Palace take Chelsea defender
Axel Disasi is finally set for a new chapter away from Stamford Bridge.
Details: According to French journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Crystal Palace and Chelsea have reached an agreement over the loan of Axel Disasi. The 28-year-old French centre-back is set to move across London after the clubs managed to settle the key terms of the deal.
Hawkins reports that this will be a paid loan, meaning Crystal Palace will compensate Chelsea for the temporary transfer. Crucially, the agreement does not include a buy option, so Disasi is currently expected to return to Chelsea once the loan spell expires.
The agreement represents a significant development after Palace had been working on the defender's signing for several weeks. Earlier in August, reports suggested that the Eagles had submitted a different loan proposal containing a mechanism for a permanent transfer, but the latest information from Hawkins points to the clubs ultimately settling on a straightforward temporary move without a purchase clause.
Disasi joined Chelsea from Monaco in 2023 and remains under contract with the London club until the summer of 2029. The defender has also previously spent loan spells away from Stamford Bridge, including periods with Aston Villa and West Ham. It is worth noting that Transfermarkt currently estimates the French centre-back's market value at €15 million.
