On the night of August 9th, as part of the 22nd round of the Brazilian Serie A, Coritiba hosted the league's underdog, Chapecoense, on their home turf.

Details: Late in the first half, the home side Coritiba, already leading 1-0, doubled their advantage: Jéci, the Brazilian defender, found the back of the net again for his team.

To celebrate the goal with the fans, the 29-year-old defender leaped over the advertising board. Misjudging his landing, he went straight down into the tunnel leading to the locker rooms.

After a brief pause, the player was brought back onto the pitch, but the goal had to be disallowed for offside. Nevertheless, that didn't stop Coritiba from securing the win: late in the match, Pedro Rocha doubled the lead, while Tulio pulled one back, setting the final score at 2-1.

After 22 rounds, Coritiba sits eighth in the table with 30 points, while Chapecoense is in 20th position, having earned just 10 points.
