Trump has come to Infantino's defense at a critical moment for the FIFA president.

Details: US President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to publicly back Gianni Infantino, urging FIFA not to even consider a change at the top.

With mounting pressure on Infantino, Trump's stance is especially noteworthy: earlier, UEFA, CONCACAF, and AFC all issued harsh criticism of the FIFA president, thrusting his future into the center of a new scandal.

The American leader chose no soft words, declaring that Infantino’s departure could deal a serious blow to FIFA’s success.

"FIFA would be making a terrible mistake if for any reason they even considered replacing President Gianni Infantino. He is fantastic, having just presided over the most successful World Cup—four times more successful than any ever held. If he leaves, it will never be as successful or profitable again! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DJT," Trump wrote.

It’s worth noting that the situation around Infantino remains extremely tense: on August 10, DailySports reported increased pressure on the official and demands for his resignation.

Reminder: Are Infantino's days numbered? Federations demand his resignation!
