WBO junior welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez has expressed his desire to fight WBA junior middleweight titleholder Terence Crawford.

"Now that we have the Riyadh Season, why not set up a fight between Crawford and Teofimo? We're already in the game. Without a doubt, I can [move up to 154 pounds]. And I will. Just send me the date. Right now, I weigh 155 pounds. I can fight Crawford right now.

I didn't expect age to catch up with Crawford so quickly [against Madrimov]. I thought it would happen at 38, not 36. Everyone had high hopes for Crawford — he even had high hopes for Madrimov. But this is boxing, and things happen just like that. It's probably a good lesson for him.

He couldn't figure out his movements and feints. Maybe he shouldn't have taken so long to come back [after the fight with Errol Spence in 2023]. But to each their own. I wasn't Terence Crawford in that fight. I'm Teofimo, and I look forward to meeting him next year," Lopez told BoxingScene.

By the way, the head of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh, recently mentioned that he wants to arrange a fight between Crawford and Vergil Ortiz.
