Manchester United are expressing interest in 21-year-old Ajax forward Brian Brobbey. But a move would at best happen in the summer transfer window.

According to The Sun, Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag is confident that he will remain at the helm of Manchester United, which is why he is thinking about strengthening the attacking line in the summer.

The Dutchman wants to bring in a striker this winter, but the club's financial situation will only allow him to sign a loan deal, not a full transfer.

Accordingly, Brobbey's invitation can only happen in the current transfer window if the Red Devils suddenly find the funds.

According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United's competition for the 21-year-old forward could come from Arsenal in London, who also need a striker.

Brobbey made his debut in Ajax's main team just thanks to ten Hag, who captained the Dutch side from 2017-2022. He scored six goals in his first season, but he moved to RB Leipzig as a free agent at the end of the 2020-2021 season.

In Germany, he played 14 matches in which he gave only three assists before returning to Ajax first on loan until the end of the 2021/2022 season, before the Amsterdam club bought Brobbey's contract for €16.35 million in the summer of 2022.

This season, the forward has scored 12 goals and given four assists in 24 Ajax games. Transfermarkt values Brobbey at €15 million, and his contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027.
