“Ten Hag is not the only reason.” De Ligt spoke about his transfer to Manchester United
Matthijs de Ligt made a summer move to Manchester United, expressing his happiness and comfort in joining his new team, while also stating that he is excited to be part of this project.
Details: One of the most high-profile transfers of the summer was De Ligt’s switch from Bayern Munich to Manchester United, with the English club paying €45 million for the Dutch defender.
De Ligt has featured in all three Premier League matches of the new season. He came off the bench in the games against Fulham and Brighton, and started against Liverpool, although he was substituted in the 69th minute.
During the international break, De Ligt joined up with the Netherlands national team and, after their match against Bosnia and Herzegovina, he spoke about his impressions of life at his new club.
According to De Ligt, he is thrilled to have joined such a team, eager to work under Erik ten Hag, and described Manchester United as "one of the biggest clubs in the world."
Quote: "I've settled in Manchester, and I like everything. The guys are great, and everything is perfectly organized. There are also a lot of Dutch people on the staff.
Erik ten Hag is not the only reason I joined Manchester United. We're talking about Manchester United—arguably one of the biggest clubs in the world. There’s great pressure because the fans are used to past successes. It’s up to us to become better," De Ligt said during an interview with Vandaag Inside.
Reminder: Matthijs de Ligt began his career at Ajax under Erik ten Hag's management. In 2019, he moved to Juventus, where he played for three seasons, followed by two years at Bayern Munich before joining Manchester United.
