Teboho Mokoena is a special player.
What he has achieved is something not many players get to reach.
This is according to national team coach, Hugo Broos.
“So I congratulate him,” Broos said after Mokoena’s 50th cap for Bafana Bafana in Saturday’s international friendly against Zambia.
“Certainly, it’s not given to everyone to have 50 and now maybe, he will even have more international games. So Teboho become little by little one of the important South African national team players.”
Broos said the game against Zambia was his 40th as a coach and paid tribute to Mokoena who has been part of his Bafana journey since he took over as a coach some three years ago.
“It’s fantastic,” said Broos. “I think it was my 40th game or something as a coach and Teboho was there from the beginning that I was with the national team.
“So that means that he played all of his 50 games with us, with me as a coach. So in four years, playing 50 national team games is fantastic.”
