La Liga plans to implement changes and from next season will use artificial intelligence to search for archived goals.

Details: As La Liga president Javier Tebas explained, the league wants to showcase old scored goals that are similar to those scored in the current match. If a player scores a goal similar to one from the past, the system will automatically show that moment to the fans.

Quote: “We are currently working on artificial intelligence to enhance broadcasts. If a goal is scored in a match, AI will automatically find a similar or almost identical goal from the La Liga archive and insert it into the broadcast,” Tebas stated.

Furthermore, the La Liga president reported that the league wants to use artificial intelligence for appointing referees and evaluating their performance.

Quote: “This will make assessments more objective. Every weekend, 60 inspectors manually evaluate the work of referees by analyzing their decisions. In my opinion, 80–90% of the functions that AI can perform is determining whether there was a penalty or not,” Tebas added.

Reminder: Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao officially won the court case against La Liga regarding the contract with CVC. The league has already been notified of the court's decision and is now preparing an appeal.
