A truly great era has come to an end in Madrid. Longtime leader, vice-captain, and living legend of the 'royal' club, Dani Carvajal, has officially played his final match for Real Madrid. The defender said goodbye to the fans at the Santiago Bernabéu right after the final whistle of the last game, the 38th round of La Liga, where Los Blancos confidently defeated Athletic Bilbao 3-1.

Details: After the match, the 34-year-old could not hold back his emotions, giving an extremely touching and candid interview in which he confessed his endless love for his home club and promised he would definitely return someday.

“I always tried to be kind and friendly to everyone, even despite my outbursts and tantrums on the pitch… but that's just who I am, it's part of my character. Real Madrid is my whole life. But we will definitely see each other again in the future,” Carvajal told Fabrizio Romano.

It's worth noting that Dani Carvajal came up through the entire Madrid system, starting from the youth academy, and in a Real Madrid shirt won every possible trophy, including six Champions League titles.

Reminder: Kylian Mbappé scored another goal for Real and etched his name in French football history.
