After Young Africans (Yanga SC) beat Mashujaa FC 3-2 in the Mainland Premier League, coach Sead Ramovic has urged his team to maintain their intensity throughout every match. Zambian striker Prince Dube put in a great performance during the match held at the KMC Mwenge Complex on Wednesday. He scored a hat-trick to help his team to victory.
Ramovic praised his opponents’ determination after the match. “We struggled to score because of the excellent performance of Mashujaa FC. We should have been 5-0 up in the first 20 minutes but we missed some crucial chances so I would also like to congratulate my players for their hard work,” he said.
Ramovic also highlighted fitness as a pressing issue: "We dropped our intensity after 25 minutes. This is something we need to address as a process. The team showed the right energy at the start, but we must sustain it for the entire 90 minutes."
Ramovic stressed the importance of collaboration while complimenting Prince Dube's effort. "Dube was able to shine because of the collective effort, even though his goals were very important. He couldn't have scored those goals without the team.
With the win, Yanga SC moves up to third place in the league standings with 30 points, three points behind leaders Azam FC and one behind rivals Simba SC.
