Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance after their 2-0 victory over KenGold FC in a Mainland Premier League match at the KMC Complex on Wednesday. The match came just two days after their grueling CAF Confederation Cup triumph against CS Sfaxien.
“I have to give credit to KenGold FC; they made it tough for us,” Davids said, as reported by The Guardian. “Just two days ago, we played a really tough game in the CAF Confederation Cup against CS Sfaxien. I’m proud of how my players handled this match, and not conceding any goals is a great bonus.”
Davids talked about the importance of managing player rotation and recognizing their efforts in training. “It’s not just about giving players playing time; it’s also about acknowledging their hard work during practice,” he explained. He also gave an update on Shomari Kapombe, who couldn’t play because of an injury. Davids said the medical team is keeping an eye on his condition before their next game against Kagera Sugar.
Talking about Simba’s busy schedule, Davids stressed the need for recovery. “It’s not easy to prepare properly with only two days between games, but we focus on recovery to stay strong and keep our momentum,” he said.
Simba SC will take on Kagera Sugar at Kaitaba Stadium on Saturday, followed by matches against JKT Tanzania on December 24 and Singida Black Stars on December 28.
