The extension of Christian Pulisic's contract with Milan has been temporarily put on hold.

Details: According to Calciomercato, the main reason is that the player is waiting for clarity regarding the club's future. That's why Christian has asked for more time.

The midfielder isn't rushing things but wants guarantees that match his ambitions. He was disappointed by the club's management last season and wanted to know the name of the new head coach as well as future plans.

The appointment of Massimiliano Allegri satisfied his demand for a new coach, but now Pulisic wants assurances that Milan will return to the Champions League and compete at the highest level in Europe.

Despite the pause, Milan's management remains calm and has full trust in Pulisic. The club is ready to raise his salary from €4.4 million to €5.5 million per year. If the situation drags on, Milan is prepared to unilaterally trigger the contract extension option, but their priority is to reach a mutual agreement.

This season, the American has featured in nine matches for the Rossoneri, scoring five goals and providing two assists, and was also named Serie A's best player in September.

Recall: Former Milan defender Mattia Caldara has announced his retirement from football.
