Swedish links! Former Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro is linked with a move to Sweden's AIK Stockholm who are looking for a new coach

Jose Riveiro is a leading candidate to take over at Swedish side AIK.

The former Orlando Pirates coach is currently unattached as he lost his job at Egyptian giants in Al-Ahly having joined them from Pirates.

His stay in Egypt was a short one as he lasted only four matches in North Africa.

Now he is in the running to be head coach of the Stockholm-based side who are seventh in the Allsvenskan and had secured one win in their last five matches.

Swedish publication, Expressen, reports that Riveiro faces competition from Olf Mellberg, who is also eyed for the Swedish senior national team side.

Mellberg is club-less after parting ways with MLS side St Louis City.

This move is not going to be a novice one for Riveiro as he also coached Finland’s Inter Turku prior to his arrival at Orlando Stadium.
