"Strength to the family": Vinicius Junior reacts to the death of Diogo Jota
Real Madrid footballer Vinicius Junior has expressed his condolences following the tragic death of Liverpool star Diogo Jota. The Brazilian shared a heartfelt post on his Instagram story.
Vinicius posted a black-and-white photo of Jota, captioning it with the words: "Rest in peace, Diogo and his brother Andre Silva! 🥺 🤞🏿 Sending much strength to the whole family!!" The Brazilian winger extended his support to the player's family, who lost not only Diogo but also his brother in this heartbreaking incident.
It is worth recalling that Jota is survived by his wife, whom he married very recently, on June 22. The couple were also raising three children, who are now left without their father.
The tragedy occurred last night in Spain. Diogo Jota and his brother were driving when they were involved in a car accident that resulted in their vehicle catching fire. Tragically, neither survived the horrific crash.
In addition to Liverpool, Jota played for clubs such as Wolverhampton, Porto, and Atletico Madrid. He began his career at the Portuguese club Pacos de Ferreira.
