Steve Barker's Simba SC fails to win the Tanzanian Premier League as Yanga Africans clinches their 27th title
This is despite their 25-match unbeaten run to the title
Steve Barker's Simba SC were beaten to the title as Young Africans clinched their 27th Tanzanian title.
This is despite that Barker's 25-unbeaten run leading up to the title race as the South African born coach sought to gain glory in the East African country.
Simba needed JKT Tanzania to beat Young Africans on Tuesday but it was not to be as the champions won the match 3-0.
Barker's arrival in Dar es Salaam was meant that he could help the Tanzanian powerhouse win the elusive title as they also did not win it last season.
Interestingly, Young Africans, are likely to appoint a South African coach in Fadlu Davids.
Young Africans presently have no gaffer after parting ways with their Portuguese coach earlier this season.
