Steve Barker's arrival in Tanzania to start his tenure as Simba FC coach is imminent and likely to be this weekend

Steve Barker’s arrival in Tanzania is expected to be this coming weekend.

Barker left the Betway Premiership side Stellenbosch FC for Tanzanian giants Simba FC last week and the gaffer was yet to arrive at his new employers let alone begin his tenure in Dar es Salaam.

In Simba’s announcement last week, the club indicated Barker may ‘arrive anytime’ at the club.

According to local reports Barker will touch down in the East African country this weekend.

“Based on our timetable, the coach will arrive shortly after Christmas, possibly on Boxing Day or December 28," an anonymous source told Soccerladuma website.

"He has been given full authority to join the team and begin work straight away."

"For now, he will work with the existing technical bench under Matola, and alongside his own assistants," the source revealed.

"Any further decisions on the technical team will be made after he has fully settled in."
