Stellenbosch FC CEO Rob Benadie on coach Gavin Hunt's future: We can only sit down at the end of the season to assess if we can continue or not
Gavin Hunt may or may not continue coaching Stellenbosch FC beyond this season.
The current deal for the former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United coach runs until the end of the season.
Hunt’s stay at the Cape winelands club is not only his decision.
This was revealed by Stellies CEO Rob Benadie.
“Gavin’s initial contract is at the end of the season, and then we’ve got options to go forward,” said Benadie.
“I think you know our club well enough, unless we think things are going well, we’re going to back [to him].
“Whether you’re the head coach, the assistant coach, the goalkeeping coach, the analyst, we’re going to try and work with you [if all goes well, we continue].
“Both Gavin, myself and the club, we both said, listen, let’s give it to the end of the season. We’re trying to survive; we’ve got to survive.
“Let’s see how it goes, let’s see if you fit into the club, and if you like it, and if we like you. It’s a good marriage so far. He’s had a good start, let’s hope it continues for a long time.”
