"Stay strong". Atlético addresses referees amid Real Madrid’s criticism

In recent days, Spanish football has been engulfed in controversy following Real Madrid’s strong criticism of referees. Their city rivals, Atlético Madrid, have now taken the opportunity to troll them once again.

Details: Atlético posted a statement on their X (formerly Twitter) account, expressing support for referees, their families, and friends. The club emphasized that these are challenging times for the football community.

Quote: "We want to express our full support and solidarity with all referees, their families, and friends. These are very difficult days for the football community. Stay strong," Atlético’s statement read.

Meanwhile, Diego Simeone made an epic joke about Atlético’s tactical approach ahead of the Madrid derby. Additionally, the club provided guidance on how to watch the highly anticipated showdown.

Recently, it was also reported that Real Madrid representatives will not attend the meeting with referees organized by the new president of the Spanish Football Federation, Rafael Luzán.

Reminder: The Royal Spanish Football Federation has already responded to Real Madrid regarding their request for a VAR review.
