Tensions rise: Real Madrid refuses to attend meeting with referees

Real Madrid has intensified its criticism of the refereeing system, calling for changes. The club had an opportunity to voice its concerns publicly, but that will no longer happen.

Details: According to Marca, Real Madrid representatives will not attend a scheduled meeting with referees, organized by new Spanish federation president Rafael Luzán. The Los Blancos hierarchy was initially among the first to confirm participation, but soon after, Luzán received a letter stating that "now is not the time" for such discussions.

In addition to refereeing issues, the meeting was set to cover competition formats, including the early rounds of the Copa del Rey, as well as the distribution of federation revenues.

Reminder: Previously, Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick stated that criticizing referees is not the approach his club intends to take.
