Recently, Netflix has been actively producing a plethora of football-related content, encompassing both documentaries and dramatic series.
Now, the streaming giant is set to expand its portfolio with a documentary series focusing on the Saudi Pro League, featuring some of the biggest stars in global football.
Details: The upcoming series, titled Saudi Pro League: Kickoff, will explore the league's rise to prominence and how it has become one of the best in the world. This six-part series will highlight the experiences of football icons like Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Karim Benzema, and others as they showcase their talents in the Middle East.
The premiere is scheduled for November 21, 2024.
The series will include exclusive interviews with players, coaches, commentators, and will present detailed narratives and key moments from the 2023/2024 season.
It will delve into the fortunes of five Saudi clubs: Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli Jeddah, and Al-Ettifaq, chronicling their battle for the championship title.
In addition to the aforementioned players, the series is expected to feature Al-Ettifaq's head coach Steven Gerrard, Al-Hilal captain Salem Al-Dawsari, Al-Nassr forwards Feras Al-Buraikan and Abdulrahman Ghareeb, as well as Al-Ittihad striker Talal Hajji.
Reminder: Netflix has previously produced numerous documentaries and series about the football world. They have created series about various clubs, such as All or Nothing: Manchester City, which followed Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur during the 2019/20 season, and Inside Borussia Dortmund.
They also have popular documentaries focusing on individual players, including titles like Ronaldo, Diego Maradona, and Messi, which celebrate the legends of the sport.
