Stalemate Between Al Masry and Zamalek in the CAF Confederation Cup

Al Masry and Zamalek played out a goalless draw in their CAF Confederation Cup Group D clash on Sunday at the Borg El Arab Stadium.

With eight points, Zamalek continued to lead the group, while Al Masry remained in second place with five points. In the same group, Enyimba of Nigeria defeated Mozambique’s Black Bulls 4-1, moving to 4 points and overtaking Black Bulls on head-to-head advantage.

The match was marked by tactical caution from both teams. Zamalek dominated possession with Ahmed Zizo leading their attacking efforts, delivering several crosses, while Al Masry relied on counter-attacks spearheaded by Fakhreddine Ben Youssef.

Both teams squandered important opportunities, such as Ben Youssef's close-range attempt that narrowly missed and Khaled El Ghandour's long-range attempt for Al Masry. Abdullah El Said of Zamalek also had a close attempt, but Khaled Sobhi, a defender for Al Masry, blocked his shot.

Despite second-half substitutions to bolster their attacks, neither team could find a breakthrough. The draw leaves both sides well-placed in the group, with the race for qualification set to intensify in the coming rounds.
