Balogun’s backstory adds plenty of spice to this potential deal: the forward came through Arsenal’s academy but made just 10 first-team appearances for the Gunners before joining Monaco in 2023 for €30 million plus €10 million in bonuses. Now, he could be heading back to North London—only this time, donning the shirt of their fiercest rivals.

The player was reportedly offered to Tottenham through intermediaries as early as the start of August, and according to Nice-Matin, two more clubs are now in the race and are already in advanced talks. Meanwhile, reports suggest Monaco are open to selling for a reduced fee, with the American’s contract running until 2028 and the clock ticking for the Principality club.
