Sphelele Mkhulise is not taking the notion that Mamelodi Sundowns are 'underdogs'

That Mamelodi Sundowns have not won the MTN8 trophy for the past five years makes them underdogs going into this Saturday's final against four-time winners Orlando Pirates.

But that Pirates are looking at the record five time Wafa Wafa titles in a row does not make Mkhulise see his Sundowns team as underdogs going into the final at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

“Heading into this game, I think we do have some sort of advantage and upper hand because we recently won a trophy,” said Mkhulise.

Mamelodi Sundowns will never be underdogs, so that alone will always give us an edge against our opponents. We have the best leadership, coaches and players in the club, so we will always have an advantage.”
