Spanish women's water polo team wins Olympic gold for the first time in history

On August 10th, the final match of the women’s water polo tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics took place.

In the decisive match, Spain defeated Australia (11:9). Notably, the Spanish team won all seven of their matches throughout the tournament.

These medals are even more valuable as they mark Spain’s first-ever Olympic gold in water polo.

The bronze medals were claimed by the Netherlands, who won the third-place match against the USA (11:10).

The Paris Olympics will conclude tomorrow, August 11th, with the official closing ceremony taking place in the evening. The Dailysports team has prepared information on where you can watch the closing ceremony in your country.
