Spain's team leader may miss the Nations League match against Switzerland
Spain has minor personnel issues ahead of their next game. Head coach Luis de la Fuente, speaking before the second-round Nations League match against Switzerland, announced that Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo sustained an injury in the previous game against Serbia.
“Dani Olmo won’t start today’s training session. He took a hard hit in the last match, and we’re not yet sure how he’ll feel tomorrow.
We have two excellent forwards – Ayoze Pérez and Joselu. We are counting on them and are confident they will handle the task,” de la Fuente stated.
To recap, in the match against Serbia, the 26-year-old Olmo started in the lineup and played 82 minutes. The European champions were unable to find the key to their opponent’s defense, finishing the match without scoring.
The match between Switzerland and Spain will take place on September 8, starting at 20:45 Central European Time.
