The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has upheld the suspension of Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior.

According to Marca, Real Madrid appealed against Vinicius' yellow card in the match against Osasuna (4-2), which was his fifth of the season. The Brazilian received it for disputes with the main referee of the game, Juan Martinez Munuera.

The Madrid club argued that the referee did not react actively enough to the offensive shouts of Osasuna fans and generally behaved passively regarding rule violations against Real Madrid players. However, the RFEF deemed Real's arguments insufficient.

This means that Vinicius will definitely miss Real Madrid's upcoming La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao.

In the current season, the 23-year-old Brazilian has scored 18 goals and provided 8 assists in 28 matches across all competitions.
