Serving as the head coach of a national team at the World Cup or European Championship is an exhausting endeavor, demanding both psychological and physical strength. This fact was reaffirmed today by the head coach of the Spanish national team, Luis de la Fuente.
“We work from 9am to 4am. I sleep 4 hours a day. There is a lot of work”, de la Fuente revealed in an interview with Cadena COPE.
Let us recall that the Spanish national team has advanced to the semi-finals of the 2024 European Championship, where they will face France on Tuesday, July 9th. Spain has reached at least the semi-finals in four of their last five Euros.
In the quarter-final match, Spain outplayed the tournament hosts, Germany, after previously defeating the modest Georgian team.
De la Fuente has been coaching the Spanish national team since the summer of 2021. Prior to this, he coached Spain’s U-19 and U-21 teams since 2013.
