Spain's defender was the best at the group stage of Euro 2024 on a key indicator

Spanish national team and Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has been named the best defender of the group stage in terms of winning individual duels.

Cucurella won 17 out of 22 individual duels at Euro 2024, which is 77% of such duels. This is the highest percentage among all defenders in the group stage (minimum 20 duels).

Spain is the only team to have won all 3 matches in the group stage. In the Round of 16, "La Roja" will face the Georgian national team. The match is scheduled for Sunday, June 30th.

Earlier, we reported that the legendary Jesús Navas set a record for the Spanish national team. Navas became the oldest player to appear for Spain in World Cup or European Championship matches – 38 years and 216 days.
