Southgate is going to get destroyed in the media again. England lose points against Denmark
Both teams started the match quite cautiously, but England managed to take the lead quite quickly. As a result of a rough mistake by Denmark's defender Rasmus Christensen, Harry Kane was in the striking position after a pass from Kyle Walker and easily scored his first goal at Euro 2024.
After that, Gareth Southgate's team sat back in defence, but could not hold on to the winning result even before the end of the first half. Denmark centre-half Kasper Hjulmand had an unbelievably beautiful long-range shot and the ball flew into the goal off the far post.
In the second half, neither team managed to create at least something dangerous near each other's goal. Gareth Southgate even withdrew Harry Kane, Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka in the 69th minute, giving chances to Ollie Watkins, Eberechi Eze and Jarrod Bowen. But that didn't work either.
England now have 4 points and have all but guaranteed themselves a place in the play-offs. All that remains is to determine where it will go from here. The Danish team, like Slovenia, has 2 points.
In the next round, England will play against Slovenia, while Denmark will play for a playoff spot against Serbia.
