The EFL Cup quarterfinal features an exciting clash between Southampton and Liverpool. Here’s all you need to know about where and when to watch the game.

Southampton vs Liverpool: what you need to know about the match

Southampton have had a challenging path to this stage. They defeated Cardiff in a high-scoring 5-3 match in the first round, followed by a 2-1 victory over Everton and a 3-2 win against Stoke City in the previous round. However, their Premier League campaign has been a struggle, as they sit at the bottom of the table. Most recently, they suffered a 0-5 loss to Tottenham, which led to the dismissal of their head coach.

Liverpool, on the other hand, are enjoying excellent form across competitions. The Reds sit atop the Premier League standings, although their last two matches ended in draws, allowing their closest rivals to close the gap. In the EFL Cup, Liverpool are the reigning champions and have shown their dominance. They began their campaign with a 5-1 thrashing of West Ham and followed it with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Brighton in the previous round.
