South Africa's Ime Okon disappointed with World Cup defeat but looking forward to the future
The defender said they did their best at the global showpiece
Ime Okon expressed sadness at Bafana Bafana's Wold Cup exit in the last-32 following the 1-0 loss to Canada.
Okon, who is based in Germany, said bowing out of the global spectacle was something he has not accepted easily but also revealed he will focus on the future.
“I’m very down, but this is football and you can only learn from it, we’re just looking forward to the future,” Okon told Sporty TV.
“Yeah we had a good game but at the end of the day, we conceded a goal and it’s 1-0. So, it’s not really helping.”
“To represent a country is something big for every player, so we look forward to it,” he added.
“For now, we’re still down after this but we will see.”
