South Africans nominated in four Caf categories ahead of the continental awards tomorrow night
South Africa has made the final cut in four categories of the Caf Awards to take place in Morocco tomorrow.
Three players and a team are in four categories ahead of the glittering ceremony in Rabat.
Youngster Tylon Smith is in the Young Player of the Year category while Ronwen Williams is nominated in the Goalkeeper of the Year and Mamelodi Sundowns are vying for the Club of the Year Award.
Caf Champions League holders, Pyramids FC and Caf Confederation Cup holders, RS Berkane are also in line for the Club of the Year accolade.
Smith, like Williams is competing with Morocco born players, as he is with Abdellah Ouazane and Othmane Maama for the Young Player of the Year prize.
Moroccan shot-stoppers, Yassine Bonnou and Munir Mohamedi of Al Hilal and RS Berkane respectively, are in the same category with Williams.
Sundowns Ladies team goalkeeper Andile Dlamini is also nominated in the Women’s division as a Goalkeeper of the Year. She is competing with Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and Nigeria’s CHiamaka Nnadozie.
