Gayton Mckenzie disagrees with Hugo Broos.

The South African Sport Minister differs in opinion with the Bafana Bafana coach on Mbekezeli Mbokazi.

The former Orlando Pirates defender earned a move to Chicago Fire in USA’s MLS League but Bafana coach, Broos, has been vocal about how poor that decision was.

Broos believes Mbokazi deserved a European move than the USA one as he is a player of high quality.

But the politician disagreed with the national team coach’s assertion about Mbokazi’s move.

"The agent of Mbokazi did the best thing. Mbokazi is the highest paid. Nobody has ever been sold for that type of money in South Africa. Show me any other player who was paid that amount. No one. Absolutely no one,” Mckenzie said.

"Mbokazi is one of the greatest defenders I’ve seen. Whoever wants him should go buy him. If European teams want him, let them pay more. Mbokazi makes more money; everybody makes more money. I bless the move."

Mckenzie went on to defend Mbokazi’s agent, Barcia Michaels, who was instrumental in the deal as Broos also had a go at her.

"That lady has beaten all the male agents out here. They were selling players for peanuts. She comes with the biggest offer. How do we criticise her?” he added.
