Vela Khumalo’s national Under-17 side have a mammoth task this task in their match against Italy today.

Khumalo’s Amajimbos have four points in their group and a win for them would see them top the Group A and also earn a spot in the knockout stages.

Should they lose to Italy, then they should hope for a defeat to host nation Qatar against Bolivia as they have four points compared to Qatar’s single point.

This is the game in which they livewire, Emile Witbooi, should come to the party and set this World Cup campaign alive for the South Africans.

Witbooi scored in both matches, when they won 3-1 against Bolivia and in the 1-1 draw against Qatar.

In Italy, Witbooi is facing a stern test, as the young Azzuri won both their matches – against Qatar and Bolivia – with ease.

All Amajimbos want is a win and a loss for Qatar for them to qualify for the knockout stages.

The match starts at 15.45pm.
