South African duo of Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Puso Dithejane in line for their MLS debuts as Chicago Fire faces Dynamo Houston in the MLS opening game
Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Puso Dithejane are in line for their MLS debuts tomorrow as their Chicago Fire faces Houston Dynamo tomorrow.
Both Mbokazi and Dithejane joined the USA-based side ahead of the upcoming season and are looking to make an impression at the side given that they are high-profile signings for the club.
The South Africans have been showered with praise by the Chicago Fire coach Gregg Berhalter earlier this week as the team prepared for their season start in the MLS.
“The new players we’ve added have made an impact,” Berhalter said.
“In general, what we wanted to do was make a stronger roster top to bottom. We wanted the guys to fight to get on the field, and that’s definitely happened.”
“The foundation has been built,” Berhalter said. “We have a lot of continuity and experience from last year. We’ve added talent. The natural next step is to improve on last season, and that starts Saturday in Houston. This is the beginning of something," he concluded.
