Due to unpaid salaries, Pitso Mosimane, the South African coach, has formally left Esteghlal FC, an Iranian team. MT Sports Marketing & Managemen his agency acknowledged that after several attempts to settle the matter, Mosimane and his technical staff's unpaid invoices remained unresolved.

Mosimane, who began working at Esteghlal in October 2024, has been without pay for more than 2 months. The club did not fulfill its obligations after his team extended 15-day deadline in accordance with FIFA standards and issued formal default notice on January 1, 2025.

Although Mosimane had already decided to depart, Esteghlal FC, now ranked eleventh in the Persian Gulf Pro League, declared that they had deposited $81000 to his account. While giving his assistance staff temporary coaching responsibilities, the club has threatened to sue him.

Despite his off field problems, Mosimne had significant influence at Esteghlal, leading the team to the Iranian Cup's next round and earning a noteworthy tie with his former coach, Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia.

Mosimane's still one of africa's most successful coaches, having won the CAF Champions League 3 time with Al Ahly and Sundowns. After stints with Al Ahli Saudi and Al Wahda UAE, his departure from Esteghlal concludes his third coaching assignment in Asia.

It's therefore anticipated that the 60-year-old coach would hunt for new possibilities in an effort to carry on his illustrious career.
