Soap opera over! Real Madrid legend officially finds new club in La Liga
Longtime Real Madrid leader Dani Carvajal has officially returned to Spanish football.
Details: Getafe have officially confirmed the signing of 34-year-old full-back Dani Carvajal. The decorated Spanish veteran joins the Blues as a free agent, signing a contract until June 30, 2027.
Negotiations over the transfer lasted several weeks and were accompanied by complications. La Liga officials previously blocked the deal temporarily due to financial regulations and salary valuation rules, but the parties managed to reach a compromise and complete all registration procedures.
The Spanish full-back successfully completed his medical tests and is ready to join José Bordalás’ squad.
For Getafe, the arrival of a six-time Champions League winner represents a major upgrade to their defensive line and a huge step forward in terms of mentality in the dressing room.
It is worth noting that Dani Carvajal represented Real Madrid for more than a decade, making over 400 official appearances for the Spanish giants. With Los Blancos, the defender won 26 trophies, including six Champions League titles and four La Liga championships.
Reminder: The paradox of Spanish football! Dani Carvajal’s move fell through because his salary was too low
