Australian snooker world champion Neil Robertson has revealed a new passion for golf, inspired by former Chelsea captain John Terry, reports The Sun.
A lifelong fan of Chelsea, Robertson has been friends with club legend Terry since 2010. It was this close friend who encouraged him to give golf a try.
"I have just taken to it. We do video analysis and my coach says: ‘When people see you play, they will not believe you have only just started playing,’" Robertson shared.
Taking the sport seriously, Robertson trains with a personal coach and has committed significant time to improving his game. His enthusiasm for golf has even led him to trade video games for the fairway. Despite his new hobby, Robertson ensures that it doesn’t interfere with his snooker career.
Robertson’s family has been supportive of his golfing pursuits. His wife has approved of the new pastime, and his son has also taken an interest, with the pair now playing together.
In addition to his World Championship title, Robertson is a winner of two other prestigious snooker tournaments: the UK Championship and the Masters.
