Snooker star Mark Williams eats takeaway Chinese food during match
A humorous moment unfolded during the UK Snooker Championship when Mark Williams ordered a Chinese takeaway to snack on during the break in his match against Stuart Bingham, reports The Sun.
Williams unpacked his meal directly on the billiard table and enjoyed his food while taking a breather. The incident surprised Eurosport commentator Radzi Chinyanganya, who was covering the game.
"Breaking news, Mark Williams is currently having a Chinese dumpling from a local takeaway such as his nerves just to settle him down," Chinyanganya joked.
However, the Chinese food didn’t seem to work in Williams’ favor. Before the break, he led the match against Stuart Bingham 3-1, but ultimately lost 5-6, with Bingham advancing to the tournament’s second round.
Mark Williams is a three-time World Snooker Champion and has held the No. 1 spot in the world rankings multiple times. Notably, the Welshman maintained the top ranking for two years, from May 2000 to May 2002. He is currently ranked 6th in the world.
