Snooker ace Kyren Wilson has revealed that he got carried away celebrating his World Championship victory in May this year, indulging in an extended celebration fueled by plenty of beer. Speaking to UK Championship magazine, Wilson shared how the post-triumph festivities spiraled a bit out of control.
"I'm quite an obsessive person so if I get a taste for something, I can go a bit crazy. I think I got a taste for the beer while I was celebrating," Wilson admitted.
The athlete acknowledged that he had to learn to manage his alcohol intake to resume training and prepare for upcoming tournaments. He also noted that exhaustion from the demanding competitive schedule, which often keeps him away from his family, contributed to the situation.
The Englishman currently holds the No. 2 spot in the world snooker rankings and boasts victories in prestigious tournaments such as the Shanghai Masters, German Masters, European Masters, and Northern Ireland Open.
Wilson and his wife Sophie are raising two sons. Off the table, he is a passionate supporter of Chelsea Football Club.
