Slot said on Diogo Jota's condition after injury: will he play in the Carabao Cup?

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has provided an update on winger Diogo Jota's fitness following his injury and whether the Portuguese forward is ready to play in tomorrow’s League Cup match against Southampton.

Quote: “Diogo would definitely be one of those for whom it would be ideal to play tomorrow, but after the game [against Fulham], he wasn’t entirely fit, so he didn’t train with us yesterday. We’ll see if he can train with us today.

Don’t expect him to start. I hope he can play a few minutes, but don’t expect him in the starting lineup tomorrow,” Slot explained.

Reminder: Jota returned to action on December 14 against Fulham, marking his first appearance since October 20. The forward made an immediate impact, scoring the equalizer.
