Slot criticized Liverpool after victory over Girona: what was he unhappy about?

Liverpool defeated Girona 1-0 in the sixth round of the UEFA Champions League group stage, with Mohamed Salah’s penalty securing the win for the Reds.

Despite Liverpool's sixth consecutive victory in the Champions League, manager Arne Slot expressed dissatisfaction with the team's performance.

Quote: "If you ask me about all six games in the Champions League, I’m genuinely pleased with all the results. I’m very happy with the first five matches, but I’m far from satisfied with our performance today.

What was I unhappy about? Many things, especially two.

When you play against a team so skilled in football and adept at building from the back, you need to be very intense to make things difficult for them. But if you hesitate for even a few seconds, this team can cause you a lot of problems.

We barely controlled the game. Maybe the second half was a bit better—I’m trying to stay positive," Slot said, as quoted by Mirror.

Reminder: Liverpool remains the only team in the Champions League to win all six group-stage matches, maintaining a perfect record.
