"Situation far from ideal": Slot reveals Chiesa’s recovery timeline after latest injury
Arne Slot says he’s not too concerned about Federico Chiesa’s ongoing injury issues, though he admits the situation is far from ideal.
Details: The Reds’ coach remains optimistic and hopes the star will join the team after the international break.
Slot admits that the situation is far from ideal: “I wouldn’t use the word ‘concern,’ but it’s far from ideal for both him and us. Due to Diogo Jota’s injury, we only have four attackers available, so this could have been a great opportunity for him to get more playing time. He needs more time to reach the required level of intensity.”
“Once he’s physically ready, we’ll be able to benefit from him. At the moment, we expect him back during the international break, and after that, he should be with us.”
Reminder: Chiesa has rarely featured, with just one full match played – 59 minutes in the 5-1 Carabao Cup thrashing of West Ham. The Italian winger joined Liverpool this summer for €12 million.
