Sinoxolo Kwayiba impresses his Orlando Pirates coach by sticking to the brief from the bench
Of all the substitutes Abdeslam Ouaddou made for Orlando Pirates against Richards Bay, Sinoxolo Kwayiba stood out.
Ouaddou beat Richards Bay 1-0 against The Natal Rich Boys to reach this season’s Carling Knockout final, with Tshepang Moremi goal separating the two sides.
The former Marumo Gallants coach brought in Relebohile Mofokeng, Thabiso Lebitso, Deon Hotto and Sinoxolo Kwayiba.
Kwayiba, the former Chippa United midfielder, stuck to the instructions as expected when he went in at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The lanky midfielder was introduced to absorb pressure from the home side as they were on the ascendancy in the second half.
“We decided to bring Rele and one changes that people maybe didn’t expect was Kwayiba because we saw that the central defenders were coming with the ball and trying to break the lines so we needed somebody to make the pressing there and Kwayiba did a fantastic job,” Ouaddou said after the match.
