In the night of March 17th, the semifinal match of the hardcourt ATP 1000 tournament in Indian Wells, USA, took place between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

The encounter concluded with a score of 1:6, 6:3, 6:2 in favor of the Spaniard. In the Masters final, Carlos will face off against Daniil Medvedev.

Following the conclusion of the match, Sinner held a press conference where he explained why he lost to the Spaniard:

- Is there any specific aspect of your game today that disappointed you the most? Is there an element of Carlitos' game that impressed you the most?

- Well, he's already shown so much that, of course, you're always impressed when playing against him. But you're also prepared, for example, for certain shots, drop shots.

He moves very, very quickly, as we all know. Especially on this court, where the ball bounces very high, it's not easy to play against him because he can play with a lot of spin. But today, I lacked the fact that at some moments I was too predictable. I was doing the same things over and over again, and that, in my opinion, let me down. I think that's the main lesson for today. We will work on some aspects, and hopefully, I will become better.

- Jannik, what happened to your left leg when you were bending it? Was there anything with your left wrist when you fell at the net? I know you just said that physically you feel like you'll be okay, but how are you feeling at the moment?

- At the moment, I feel a bit of everything on my body (smiles). But it's okay. It's sports. You know, you have to accept it.

I had some issues, just minor issues, but everything was fine until the third set. Then, when I fell, I hit my elbow a bit because I fell on it and turned. So, it was hard for me to serve. But playing against him is very tough. He puts a lot of pressure on you. You know, today he changed a couple of things, for example, tactics, which I have to observe before the next time. I have to improve a couple of aspects and try to beat him again.
