An exhibition tournament, Six Kings Slam, took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, featuring some of the best modern-day tennis players. Competing in this mini-tournament were Holger Rune, Daniil Medvedev, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Jannik Sinner, and Carlos Alcaraz.

Details: In the final, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz—currently the world’s top two ranked players—faced off.

Ahead of this match, Alcaraz had won three consecutive meetings against Sinner, with the Spaniard defeating the Italian in all their encounters in 2024.

However, Sinner managed to break his losing streak in Saudi Arabia.

In a three-set battle that lasted nearly two hours, Jannik Sinner emerged victorious with a score of 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 6-3.

For this win, Sinner will receive six million dollars from the tournament organizers—making it the largest prize ever awarded in a tennis tournament. Interestingly, this isn’t the only money Sinner will take home: every participant of the Six Kings Slam earned an additional $1.6 million just for attending the event in Saudi Arabia.

Reminder: Earlier, we reported that the third-place match featured tennis legends Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. This match may have been Nadal’s last at the top level, as the Spaniard is set to retire at the end of the current season.
