On Monday, August 5th, the gymnastics competition at the 2024 Olympic Games continued with the balance beam event.

A true sensation occurred as the favorite, American Simone Biles, was expected to dominate. She started her performance well, but unfortunately, at a certain point, she lost her balance and fell off the beam. She received a score of 13.100 for her performance, which did not allow Biles to secure a podium finish in this event.

As a result, the podium was shared by two Italian gymnasts and a representative from Brazil. The first place was claimed by Alice D'Amato, who received a score of 14.366 from the judges. The second place went to China's Zhou Yaqin, whose performance earned her 14.100 points. The bronze medal also went to Italy, specifically to Manila Esposito.

It is worth noting that on Monday, July 5th, the triathlon competition concluded with an incredible finish and a photo finish decision.
